Business owners in the Phillip Island and Bass Coast region can learn how to get their business disaster ready at free workshops at Cowes, Wonthaggi and Inverloch from September 5 to 7.

Social enterprise Resilient Ready will hold the workshops with local CFA, VICSES and Destination Phillip Island to talk about evacuation triggers, media management and bringing in more revenue.

Attendees will hear about micro-learning modules with discussion topics including:

Planning your business for all disasters at once
- The new national warnings system
- What would trigger you to evacuate your business
- Managing media in the good times and bad
- Using technology in your business
- Bringing in more revenue

The workshops (RSVP for catering) will be held between 10am and 12pm at:

The workshops support the FREE Resilient Ready Disaster Ready Phillip Island + Bass Coast program that began in collaboration with the CFA, VICSES and Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) in May.

Co-designed with a regional consultative group, the program has been tailored to build localised resilience in all tourism-related businesses and organisations in the region.

By signing-up to the Disaster Ready Phillip Island + Bass Coast program, businesses can:
- Create a personalised business resilience toolkit
- Upskill with 15 x 5 minute e-learning modules
- Watch videos of local business people sharing their disaster stories
- Attend community and online workshops
- Build regional connections with other people in business experiencing similar challenges
